Overview
A food label, translated into a straight answer.
Emma scans a barcode or a package and returns one clear verdict — eat this, or avoid it — backed by the additives, sugars and allergens it found.
The product had to be readable in a supermarket aisle, one-handed, in a few seconds.
Challenge
Turning dense nutrition data into a single glance.
Ingredient lists are long, inconsistent and full of chemistry. Showing everything would be useless; hiding too much would feel untrustworthy.
Approach
Score first, evidence underneath.
We led with a 0–10 score and a colour gradient, then let people pull up the detail — hidden sugar, additives, allergens, toxins — only when they want it.
Bold display type and high-contrast cards keep the verdict legible at arm's length under supermarket lighting.
Outcome
A scanner people actually trust.
The app ships a full scanning flow, a product database view and an advice layer that explains every rating in plain language.
